How to take care
of your new tattoo
Your skin takes several weeks to heal and layers under the surface may take up to 3-4 weeks to settle
(Saniderm) Bandage Instructions

Leave the bandage alone for 5 days.
Avoid exposing the tattoo to direct sunlight, heat/sweat and dirt.
(A cotton compression sleeve can be worn over the wrap to protect the area from harsh environmental contact)
Wear loose clothes to not constrict the area.

If you bandage comes off sooner than 5 days you may request a new bandage.

Day 5 you remove the wrap, gently clean your skin.
(Give your tattoo 2weeks minimum after bandage removal before exfoliating.)
Hydrate with Aquaphor or any natural non-scented body lotion.
No Bandage Instructions
Using antibacterial non scented soap and warm water, wash your hands clean then wash your tattoo
No hard scrubbing. Pat dry with a paper towel.
(Repeat every 6 hours).
Moisturize with a thin layer of your choice of Aquaphor, Pure Shea butter or Coconut oil.
(There should NOT be visible amounts of hydrating product on your skin)
repeat these instructions for 3 weeks.
Do not re-apply saran wrap to your tattoo unless instructed to do so.

Things that will irritate or put your tattoo at risk of not healing properly:
Direct Sunlight
You will not be able to apply SPF over your new tattoo until the surface layer of your skin is fully healed, sun damage (sun burn) on your skin on your open skin will be very painful and can lead to a significant amount of ink loss.
Working Out
Your skin after a tattoo is swollen due to skin trauma
and needs time to heal and settle the ink properly.
Forcing sweat out of these inflamed skin pores can have adverse affect in the natural healing process.
New tattoos wrapped or not leave your skin more vulnerable
to infections from unclean gym equipment.
Tanning, chemical or Laser treatments
Adding any foreign chemicals to your skin (tanning dyes) can lead to adverse interactions with the ink, effecting colors.
Laser treatments have been known to remove tattoo ink in small amounts. Please consider completing laser procedures before getting these same areas tattooed.
Submerging your Tattoo
No pools, no jacuzzi, no beach time lakes or any bodies of water. Your fresh tattoo is an open wound, DO NOT introduce it to potential bacteria. Your Saniderm wrap is not recommended for taking baths or swimming.
Slapping, Scratching or picking at a healing tattoo
The itchy phase of the tattoo is everyone's least favorite part of the healing process, instead of scratching, wash the tattoo (with antibacterial soap and warm water, pat dried with a paper towel) and moisturize (with a thin layer of Aquaphor) Scratching/ picking at a tattoo or scabbing area will rip ink out of your skin.
slapping a tattoo can rupture capillaries near the surface of your skin resulting ink blowouts.
